“Quieter than I expected”
The empty right seat
Without your instructor’s voice, the airplane gets very quiet — and then your own training starts talking. That’s the moment it clicks.
Training / 03 — Your judgement, trusted
The moment every pilot remembers: the door closes, the right seat is empty, and it’s just you and the airplane. We make sure you’re ready long before it happens.
What it entails
Alone, but never unsupported
Solo readiness / 03 — the sky you’ll have to yourself
Solo isn’t a reward for hours logged — it’s a decision about judgement. Your instructor signs you off when your decisions are consistently safe, not just your landings consistently smooth.
After the first solo come supervised solo hours, cross-country solos, and a checkride prep phase that leaves nothing to chance.
The solo arc
Four thresholds
Consistent circuits, crisp radio, and emergency flows on demand. An independent instructor flies one check with you before sign-off.
Your instructor steps out, the tower knows, and you fly the pattern you’ve flown a hundred times — this time alone. Shirt-tail cutting ceremony included.
Supervised solo practice in the local area plus dual cross-country training: planning, diversions, and airports far from home.
Mock oral exams, mock flight tests, and paperwork handled for you. You walk in knowing exactly what the day holds.
What solo pilots say
After the third circuit
“Quieter than I expected”
Without your instructor’s voice, the airplane gets very quiet — and then your own training starts talking. That’s the moment it clicks.
“Harder to stop smiling”
Every solo ends the same way: a logbook signature, a cut shirt-tail on the hangar wall, and a pilot who can’t wait for the next flight.

Earlier stages
01 — Knowledge with context
The theory behind the flying: weather, navigation, systems and radio in small evening groups.
02 — Practice with purpose
One-on-one pattern work, manoeuvres and cross-countries with your dedicated instructor.
Your sky is waiting
Every solo pilot started with a single question. Ask yours — we’ll map the arc from first flight to first solo together.
